Have you failed too many interviews in the past?

Maybe you are already frustrated, suspicious, "it's all pre-decided anyway" you might start telling yourself.

See, it's not you. It's not your lack of skills, or that famous huge gap that first needs to be filled.

If you hear this as feedback (if you get feedback at all) it is only because HR and hiring managers do not know what else to tell you and how to explain why they feel you are not a good fit. In fact they might not even know it.

But let me tell you, you don't need to add more skills. You don't need to close gaps. You don't need to fine tune your CV (again)...or maybe you do, I don't know, I haven't seen it ☺️.

Come on, seriously, do you believe they think you can't learn on the job? Of course you can. Everybody can. Skills can be acquired...easily. In fact "on the job" is how most people grow.

We all spend so much time fine tuning CVs, with all that we did and our achievements we are so proud of....allowing our egos to show case ourselves.

But that is not what is going to move the needle.

Here is a big insight for you: The major question hiring managers ask themselves is not “CAN he/she do it” (you are all top skilled). It is “WILL he/she do it”

 

They don’t struggle with lack of competence, they struggle with lack of engagement!

 

They know that if you want something, you will find a way...you will MAKE a way.

Interviewers are not interested in what you have done in the past, simply because it doesn’t mean you’ll do it again!
